Matt Nelson

Softball Development

Matt Nelson is from Lakeville, MN and has been a part of the MASH community since 2012. He has been involved as an athlete, an intern, a part time and seasonal coach, and now as a full time staff member at MASH.

His love for the game started at a very young age, but has since been re-enhanced since stepping into coaching. While in his senior season at Lakeville South, he was a strong force in the only state run in school history. He then went on to Crookston to be another building block for a program that was being rebuilt. Hard work, consistency, and passion have always been in his life and standards. Matt spent 4 years at the University of Minnesota-Crookston where he was involved in SAAC, heavily involved in the culture and community, and a member of the baseball team. While in his time at Crookston, he spent his summers coaching in the Lakeville Community, taking 5 separate teams to State Tournament runs, and obtaining a NSF state championship.

Matt’s love and dedication to MASH and his community is very evident in his passion, energy, and consistency in the cage and on the field. His investment in this organization is out of the appreciation and dedication of all his coworkers, athletes, and the positive change he gets to invoke daily.
